Anyway, I'm sorry if it gave offence. I also feel strongly about the lawn, and do not find it grotesque, rather, soft and inviting.Mariehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13632520557553405790noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1334907083926434029.post-80295824940155968762011-09-17T13:26:58.142-04:002011-09-17T13:26:58.142-04:00This comment has been removed by the author.Mariehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13632520557553405790noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1334907083926434029.post-50807763198319742252011-09-17T09:32:38.806-04:002011-09-17T09:32:38.806-04:00Marie, PC is such a perjorative; I don't hate ...Marie, PC is such a perjorative; I don't hate lawns at all; proper time and place and all that. On The High Line it borders on the grotesque.
I've walked barefoot on the cool marble floor of the Louvre until a guard told me in no uncertain (French) terms to put my shoes back on. And it's tiny. And people love to sit on it. And take their shoes off, and feel the grass. That is pleasure.Mariehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17086277483606295046noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1334907083926434029.post-14550852776378688532011-09-16T09:29:51.859-04:002011-09-16T09:29:51.859-04:00I'm with you! If I had grass (and used all the necessary herbicides and fertilizers) I'd never find all those lucious mushrooms just outside my front door.

Besides, The High Line is a sophisticated, uber-urban, industrially influenced garden. The lawn is out-classed and out of place.Ellen Zachoshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15050574906637976116noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1334907083926434029.post-72685927942111561142011-09-16T07:21:08.474-04:002011-09-16T07:21:08.474-04:00Lawn is in the eye of the beholder?Lawn is in the eye of the beholder?Cheval Force Opphttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13462375313095132174noreply@blogger.com
