But really people, it's December, it's the northeast, it's not like it's a TOTAL surprise!
I walked through the Park to get to work today. Outdoor gardens may be sleeping but indoor plants still need care.
I'm pretty sure there's a motorcycle under there.

Eight months out of the year I curse the expense of the parking garage. Not today.

I'd like to say this is a mouse or a vole, but let's face it, it's probably a young rat. A hungry young rat whose food is covered with snow.

Pretty picture to take your mind off the rat.

Here's wishing everyone speedy melting, easy digging out from under, and Happy New Year!

I was thinking the same thing. It's funny that people get so surprised by the snow, and I kept thinking, we got a lot of snow last year too, what's the big deal? I am hoping that it melts soon though, the first day looks nice, but not the 4th day.
Friend John says he thinks it may be a vole:
"The key is the tail. The Norway rat's (Rattus Norwegicus) tail is hairless and pink. I say this is not a rat. What about the black rat (Rattus rattus) you ask? Also has a hairless tail and likes to stay in high places (roofs, attics, etc.) It is far less common in NYC than the ubiquitous Norway rat, which kills black rats as a hobby."
